Jive and Jam

I had a lovely collection of red and white fabrics with a hint of pink and the pattern I had in mind to make a coat out of my reds and whites had seven sections. I decided to make a variety of blocks and to make 7 each one. I also created appliques of red fruit to add to the design. Each section of the coat got a fruit. Looking at the design, I decided it needed an accent so I introduced some green by adding leaves to the fruit. The red facing seemed so plain, so I decided to enhance it by appliqueing fruit on the facing. When making the faux-bound buttonholes, I made the patch large enough to create an applique.
