Mask Fragment

After making over 350 masks during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided I would use the scraps from mask making to create a coat as a register of the fabrics used and to document the moment. It took a while to hand quilt it and appliqué 19 red circles, representing the virus. I set it aside for months before getting back to it and finally finishing it as the world was awakening from the pandemic.
