The second coat in the coat maker series is Peacock Blue. Here is Rachel's description of how she came up with this coat:
There are times when I only want to show off the fabric. For Peacock Blue, I found five fabrics in peacock blue that played well together. All the fabrics had some design that played into the peacock theme, such as circles or a wavy, feather-like design. I displayed the fabrics in a larger format to appreciate their beauty. Narrow pieced strips separate the chunks of the peacock fabrics. To repeat the circles in the back, I appliqued circles on the border and the cuffs. For the lining, I went with the other side of the color wheel and used an orange fabric and accents from the border strips.
